OptEEmAL at ECTP Conference in Brussels and Smart City Expo in Barcelona!
22.11.2018 – Our project partners were presenting OptEEmAL at two major conferences in November: The ECTP Conference Nov. 13-14, 2018 and the Smart City Expo World Congress Nov. 13-15, 2018.
ECTP Conference 2018
Two of our partners - CARTIF Technology Centre (CAR) and United Technology Research Centre Ireland (UTRC-I) – were present at the European Construction, built environment and energy efficient building Technology Platform (ECTP) conference with an OptEEmAL poster and a stand to inform about the project progress and benefits.
The conference featured parallel sessions on Energy Efficient Buildings, Infrastructure & Mobility, Materials & Sustainability, Heritage & Regeneration and Active Ageing & Design. Experts and high-level speakers from academia, industry and the European Commission came together to discuss current and anticipated innovation in the built environment field.
Smart City Expo World Congress 2018
“The OptEEmAL Solution for Energy Efficient District Retrofitting” was presented on 15th November 2018 at the renowned Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. During the event organized by the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ), four of our consortium partners gave insights on how the OptEEmAL design platform works and which new technologies are being integrated in the different modules to make the platform calculate the best possible retrofit scenario at district scale.
Mikko Martikka from Horizon 2020 project mySMARTLife Lighthouse City Helsinki presented his projects new framework on “Open Energy Data”, thus setting the stage for further discussions. After an introduction and overview of the H2020 project by our project coordinator Miguel Ángel García Fuentes (CAR), Alvaro Sicilia Gómez and Gonçal Costa Jutglar from Funitec (FUN) explained the multi scale integration for the district simulation, including energy, environmental, economic and other simulations.
The Energy Conservation (ECMs) Catalogue was presented by Lara Mabe Gomez and Juan Pedredo Alegria from Tecnalia (TEC).
The progress in retrofitting actions at Fomento San Sebastián (FSS) were presented by Ainara Amundarain Martin and Julia Vincente Gómez from project coordinator Cartif (CAR). In a live demonstration, they guided participants through the steps of the platform prototype to design energy efficient retrofitting projects.
